Love you guys!

Keep Them Coming

Finally I have taken my Engineers In Society test this morning. I actually planned to post about friendship this Monday, but I prefer to publish this post first.
An award is something given to a person or a group of people to recognize excellence in a certain field; a certificate of excellence. I were given an award by one of my loyal readers, Bluedreamer27 (really, I don't have any problem with the typing error :) Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.
I gave myself a thought whether or not to give other blogs my personal award, but I finally decided to get to know you guys well first before doing something special for my friends. A little longer wouldn't hurt anyone right? I have to admit, I'm still a newbie in this blogging matter. So, correct me if I offend any of you. Suggestions are also welcome.

This couple months, I have ventured into so many new blogs whether through my fellow or through a platform called Entrecard. For those who haven't heard about it, it works like a normal business card. You may drop it into others dropping box (like at my right page, FEATURED BLOG) to receive a credit and then buy advertisements for your blog. I have stumbled into so many interesting blogs through this method. Give it a try!

Dancing The Way

Hypocrite define as a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs. A hypocrite person is one of the most respectable liar alive and his acts are continue to amaze people in century.

If you were to study cases of hypocrisy, I doubt you would find a single person who intended to become a hypocrite. Most people start off with good intentions and along the way their moral values somehow get off track. This is what I call a dancer wearing a mask. The mask may be changed, but once it is broken, your true identity would be revealed. The dancer should know where their limits before stumbling and fall down hard.

The desire to achieves something that is not in our grasp make us sometimes cross the boundary. When people present themselves as moral leaders, they automatically commit themselves to living by a higher standard. Many politicians and leaders branded themselves as hypocrites by failing the most fundamental rule of morality – leadership is made by example.

When I was in high school, Mr. Philips my mathematic teacher, talked to the class about the dangers of smoking. He had good intentions in warning us about smoking, but he compromised his message through a conflicting financial interest.

Because Mr. Philips had previously told the class that he owned stock [through his family] in a tobacco company in Indonesia that had done extremely well for him, he said, “I wouldn’t mind taking a hit on my stock if it meant some of you young folks would not take up the habit.” Because his capital gains were generated by people consuming tobacco, his ethics and stock portfolio were in conflict with each other. How hypocrite is that?

I have a friend who would often say:
Your actions speak so loudly, I can’t hear a word you say.”

Let me ask you something…Do you practice what you preach? Are your actions consistent with your words? Or you just one of the Venetian dancer?

Name and Pronounciation

I got the inspiration to write this post after reading my dear friend Waliz in the Waliz Diary. One of her post is about her name. My full name is MOHD HAAZIQ. [noted the double As] A name that is suppose to means "intelligence" in Islamic meaning. I am not sure if I have managed to wear my name with a proud but I am definitely trying.

After almost twenty one years of living, I have noticed that somehow my name is quite hard to pronounce. Several of the wrong pronunciations and spellings are:
  • Hazziz
  • Haazik
  • Hazzik
  • Hazziq
  • Haa,aziq
  • Haaiz
My friends usually calls me Aziq or Haziq. And this is my name is Arabic:

My Arabic's skill doesn't take off well. Studying a new language always a challenge for me. Who want to learn how speak Malay? haha. Anyway, I really hope that my name won't turn into the "Blackest" name [read more? Click Related Post at the bottom of page]. Human shouldn't be judge only by its name! If you are a job interviewer, should you just ignore me just because my name sound silly? What if my name sound like "James Bond" or Jason Bourne"? Should I be hired? Oh wait a minute, what if my name sound "Asian"?
