Love you guys!

When A Child Is Neglected

Do you remember February 1993 in England , when a young boy of 3 was taken from a Liverpool shopping centre by two 10-year-old boys? Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second, Jon Venables took his hand and led him out of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson. They took Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the way stopping every now and again to torture the poor little boy who was crying constantly for his mummy. Finally they stopped at a railway track where they brutally kicked him, threw stones at him, rubbed paint in his eyes, pushed batteries up his anus and cut his fingers off with scissors. Other mutilations were inflicted but not reported in the press. -Extracted from an email posted at ClickdTalk

I can't believe it. Parents nowadays are taking care their children very lightly. Especially in Malaysia wonder wonderland. And it has been a trend here!. Don't believe it? Click HERE to read more. And HERE too. And HERE.

You want to have kids as quick as possible (Wah! Already two kids? How long you two have been married? Oh, it was just like yesterday, seriously, yesterday). After that you sometimes and somehow, managed to be busy enough and forget that you have kids. Sound cruel? Hey, when was a trend is not cruel? Don't worry, before you ever blink, the trend will be gone.. I hope.

Parenting skills of young parents are seems to be deteriorated (caution, not me who saying it). So, when their child lost on her way to a market, why don't we torcered the parent more? Jail sound good to me (definitely not me). That is what I could recalled when the Minister of Women, Family and Community of Malaysia has suggested one of the proposed laws when the breakdown of Nurin Jazlin's case surface in the local media.

I thought that the parent has suffered enough and the main criminal should be the unknown assailant, suspected to be a psychopath killer? Sadly enough, that person is still live freely till this day. Well, when your Health Minister former Health Minister has a sex scandal video surfacing the internet, what more did you expect?

I would like to ask your opinion on the best way to handle this situation. Jail the parents as they are the one who neglect them? Are the parents is the only problem here? So, in this love, love in the air month, spare some of your love to those kids who have been lost, to their parents that are waiting with hope mounting high and to the ordinary citizens like you and me who plainly care.

i m just wondering about the photo. is that ur leg n ur kid ?

neomesuff said...

..lets hope the leg is actually clean..at least ;-)

Parents HAVE to take care of their own kids...Neighbours SHOULD know each other...those are the basics...

Hi bluedreamer,

Most of the case, it is true that the parent held the responsibilities. But don't you think a jail sentence is a little bit harsh? hehe

Thanks for your wish man! Tomorrow is my Mass Transfer test. Hope everything will go well :DD

Hi mr viruz,

Yeah, I can't help to notice that parents nowadays highly dependent to their maid or babysitter to look after their kids. Sometime the kid even call their maid "mother". I hate but to admit that I am one of those kids too. I call my babysitter "mak" (a call in Malaysian language that carry the same meaning of mummy) and I call my mum, mummy. *sigh*

I read that story in facebook.. and that hurt :(

I know parents tend to neglect their kids in someway of the other, that doesnt mean they're careless.. but then again they should be more alert.. kids are kids and they always need their parents security,alertness..

The killers shouldnt have been let scot-free.. its very sad and unfair.

read my latest v day ideas? ;)

Hi nisha,

Yeah, I agree with you..

"parents tend to neglect their kids in someway of the other, that doesnt mean they're careless.. but then again they should be more alert.."

Seriously, none of us want that to happen to our children, yet the case of child missing was accumulating fast. I am pretty sure that with more alertness whether from the parents or the society at large, these cases will be resolved.

Hi nisha,

No, it's ok. I do understand it well. Sometimes, I already went to your page (or others), but due to some problems, (internet connectivity suck or I have something that require my full attention) I sometimes miss out a comment. Don't take any heart feeling from that, please.. :D

(just a remainder to everyone :)
