Don't Blame Your Child and Go Watch Iron Man!

Don't Blame Your Children

If you're one of my loyal readers, you should may notice that I was missing for couple of days. Truth to be told, I was involved in an accident (!). Unfortunately, I was still alive to rambling about myself in this blog. Well, that may be because my 'accident' was only involving a supporting wall in a shopping complex, my mum's car and myself. I was in hurried to watch the Iron Man and I definitely blame the wall to be built in such matter so that the parking space was very small and only suitable for a mini car.

My mum's car was scratched with yellow paint stained on it. Thank God my parents chose not to blame me. They said they don't want me to be traumatized by an accident. After all, it was my first car accident and it was not that bad after all. My younger brother had quite an unforgettable accident last year. Since then, he never ever use that particular road again.

A soothing word rather than an angry voice work well for me. I know when I have stepped outside the boundary and know when to use my cuteness to extend an apology to my parent. I frequently hear about parents that prefer to use a harder method of teaching to discipline their child, for those who taught on using that option, please make sure that the last thing you want is to make your child a worse person in the future. Several head up points (copy and edited) from Prevent Child Abuse America. Go and visit the site. It has many interesting tips for all.

Remember the purpose of discipline
It is to teach your child socially acceptable ways of expressing natural desires and drives. Discipline guides your child into adulthood. Not to be traumatized by it.

Successful discipline is geared to the child's developmental stage
Don't expect a child of any age to perform something he or she is not ready for. Take things slow and steady. Do not put any excessive pressure especially on the academic achievement.

Children need positive reinforcement
Reward your child for doing right with smile, hugs, attention, praise and thanks. Although for me, money is the best reward. I am pretty sure your children too in the same ship with me. LOL

Never hit a child
Hitting is not a useful discipline tool for your children. Hitting and other physical punishment are not effective because they teach a child that it is okay to hit people, make children much too angry to be sorry for what they have done. Plus, you can hurt a child physically and mentally.

Discipline is best taught by example
The lessons you teach your child come from what your child sees you do - not what you say. Child tends to make parent as his or her role model. You may be not rich like Donald Trump or perfect as Oprah Winfrey, but make yourself the best from what you have. One of my role models (I don't know why people usually have one role model only) is my dad.

If what you are doing is not working, change it!
Your best efforts, even those that worked in the past, may break down. Try to keep sight of your basic principles and adopt with the child development. The best way to do it is to spend more quality time with your child and observed what he or she latest behavior.
"The important thing is not whether your child behaves in the next few minutes or today or this week. The really important thing is how your child turns out 5, 10, or 20 years from now."

Go Watch Iron Man!

Robert Downey Jr. sure win my vote. At first, I was in doubt whether this not-that-old-but-looking-like-an-old-man could amaze the new audience (such as me, who do not read a single Iron Man comic). Nevertheless, his act and with the help of advance digital technology made me stayed put on my sit through the one hour and half hour movie (even though I almost freezing in cold in that cinema - note: Never wear a short while watch a movie).

As many people already review this movie, I rather not explain further. The bad thing is, as always, it portraits Muslim as terrorist. Other than that, the movie was good, enjoyable with wickedly funny speeches through out the movie, the casts were solid, plus you will see couple of funny robots too! That been said, to be fair, I will quote a piece of opinion from a fan of the Iron Man comic.
With a little tinge of shame and regret, my rare dalliances with the Iron Man character stemmed from a few one off comic books, as well as occasions during the teenage years of spending time in the arcade with those Marvel games, where Iron Man was one of my preferred characters because it came together with his incredible arsenal of weapons from repulsor beams to this gigantic cannon which accompanied the execution of some complex combo moves. There's something sexy about the red and gold suit of armour, and having an array of weapons at the disposal of a player, makes perfect sense for variety in dispatching your enemies. - imdb

Age That I wish To Go Back To

Words that I used to scream ramble when I was a kid

I was tagged by Rizal from his Rest n Rileks blog (a nice blog about rattan and all its "derivatives" Check him out HERE). So, I decided to fly my back to the future car (one of my favorite franchise film at that time) the around 1994-1999. I will be around 7 - 12 years old back then.

Five Reasons Why I Wish to Go Back to The Age 7-12

1. We don't have a digital camera back then
If we all have camera digital back then, I am pretty sure all our cute little faces will be preserved forever and we could always put that picture as our default picture to promote our profile at social networking. Aside from showing our ageless face, all the pedophiles will be crazy as they don't know which one is a child and which is a 70 years old grandma.

2. Give you a chance of being the most of ... everything
With your matured brain (matured physical also will do), you could be the strongest, cleverest and the most famous of all kids. Heck, you could also be the President of Kids under 12 association. (Never heard of it? Well, then you should invent it first before be the president. Don't worry, the kids easily fooled)

3. Kick the kid who once bullied you
Are you want to let him grow up to be a criminal? If he know that the world is full with people that stronger than him, he would not give the men species a bad name after all.

4. Brave enough to say Santa Claus does not exist (Could be changed with any of your local fairytale)
No one will be able to scare you from sleeping at night, you would not be afraid to go to the toilet at the midnight and no one will ask you to be a good kid at the eve of Christmas. You could give other kids a version of your own fairytale!

5. Remaking the memory and enjoy it while it last
In a serious note, if you are same with me, who lost most of his childhood memories due to frequent 40 degree Celsius fevers and have to stay in house for most of the time, you sure will enjoy and make the memory last forever. Nevertheless, just in case if your back to the future car malfunction, and you don't have childhood memory, you just have to live the future and appreciate what comes with it.

So, that the reasons why I want to go back to the age of 7-12 years old. As my pictures are not suitable for general viewing, please click the link below (it's javascript - won't take you away from this page :) I have taken out the javascript as one of my lovely reader could not view it. Oh! And please don't laugh!

Hot News This Week #1

Hot News This Week is about the news that caught my attention through out this week. I planned to submit this post on this weekend. But my father and I have to go to Kuala Lumpur for my uncle farewell party. He's gonna be supervising a two years project in Dubai. My mum and my older brother (not in the same trip) will also go to Indonesia this weekend. I guess I will be seeing real human being less and less this holiday. Mental note: Will have to hang out with my real friends (not those friends in social networking sites) next week.

Miley Cyrus and Her Photos Scandal

Who is Miley Cyrus? She has a hit TV series - Hannah Montana, an album with the same title and very successful sold out tour Best of The Both World. Oh and her father is a country singer Billy Ray Cyrus (Check her out HERE for more). I am not really into any teenage sensation nowadays, but I think we should pay a little bit more attention to this girl. She is in the spotlight after posed topless for cover of June 2008 Vanity Fair. The photos were said to be too racy for 15 years old because she is the role model for ages 6 to 14 kids all over the world. She then issues apology for the photo shoot.

The singer, tells PEOPLE magazine: "My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie Leibovitz. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed." A source close to the singer tells PEOPLE that Cyrus is clothed but shown by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz in such a way that that the teen appears to be topless.

A spokesperson for Vanity Fair has defended the publication, saying: "Miley's parents and minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley. The article accompanying the pictures quoted Miley as saying the pictures are "really artsy. It wasn't done in a skanky way."

Nevertheless, I think the picture (above) is indeed beautiful. Miley Cyrus should be more concerned about her kissing another girl photos, her posing in bikini, very very sexy photos, pictures with her used to be boyfriend and in her infamous green bra. Well, I sure hope other underage kids (who willing to force their parents to buy a $1200 concert ticket) would not follow their role model step into this path. As I said before. We should all be concerned about this one of the kind kid (her voice is not bad though). Parents, keep a close eye for what your kid's into!

Sex Slave to Her Father For 24 Years

This is one of the few strange (and shocking) news I ever read.

A 73-year-old Austrian man has confessed to imprisoning his daughter in a windowless cellar for 24 years and fathering her seven children. A 42-year-old woman had told police on Sunday that her father, Josef Fritzl, lured her into the basement of the block where they lived in the town of Amstetten in 1984 and drugged and handcuffed her before imprisoning her.

"Fritzl has now said that he locked up his daughter for 24 years and that he alone fathered her seven children and that he locked them up in the cellar," Franz Polzer, head of the criminal investigations unit in the province of Lower Austria, said.

For 24 years police thought missing Elisabeth Fritzl had run away from home to join a religious cult. Then, the full sickening horror of her secret life emerged - for all that time she was allegedly held captive in a cellar by her rapist father Joseph by who she had seven children. Astonishingly Elisabeth, 42, lived with three of the youngsters in the 1.7 metre-high dungeon reached through a garage and accessible only by an electronic lock with a special code.

Their captivity emerged after eldest child Kerstin, 19, was taken to hospital unconscious with a mystery illness. Doctors found a note in her pocket from her mum begging for help.

One of her 7 children died at birth, 3 were "adopted" by Josef and her wife (who did not aware of the situation) and the other 3 youngsters were imprison with her mother in the windowless cellar. They never step outside their whole life. Joseph is now under arrest suspected of incest and keeping his daughter in captivity. Talking about putting the devil face in the human body.

The peak of this news was that Josef's wife and his neighbors never realized the captivation. The lack of awareness that is not a typical for the current trend of neighborhood. We barely know our neighbors and vice versa. Sometimes, the only moment we exchange a couples of word are when we throw out the rubbish. Oh wait, that's not being done anymore. Usually in suburban area, we all have a maid to do it for us. Not to mention those endless high fences and never-to-open-windows.

We all did this in the name of "Security", "Privacy" and don't want to be label "Busy Body". In the end, this what happen to the society. We all should be ashamed when we know a crime had been done right in front our nose. Sigh...
