Comment me at My Little Black Pot please. Thanks :)

*Updated*

Hi All,

Thanks for all your concern and wishes. I understand it all except for katunx's comment, to which I couldn't fully understand. lol. Sorry my friend...

I am feeling much much better, and already finishing (yet again) my holiday post. However, I think I better post it tomorrow (Friday) or during the weekend. As I am preparing myself for the start of new semester. My result already out for almost 3 weeks, but I still haven't find the courage to register for new semester yet, which won't starts until another 2 weeks.

As always, the most cruel thing when you're at the end of holiday, is to go back to your work/study. See you on the next post, which probably tomorrow, doing a beautiful tag from Nisha.

Regards,

Great Opinions, Bad Health - Ulcer & Tonsils

I was overwhelmed by the all the responds in my latest post, Change Your Lifestyle (READ THIS HOT POST HERE). I would like to elaborate a little bit more on the topic, but I am not feeling well this weekend. My tonsils are swelling like hell, a condition that been repeating for years since I was a kid. But last weekend it was getting out of hand or in doctor's term, my "tonsils are enlarged, reddened and exudate white patches of tonsillitis". And the worst of it, I don't even noticed that my tonsils were swelling. I thought my sore throat was due to my tongue and mouth ulcer, yet another symptoms I have been experienced through out the year. I could not post any of these pictures here as they are not suitable for general audience and for those who want to eat after reading this post. (Check them out through links at the end of this post - for the record, mine is not that bad as shown from those pictures and articles). Back to the post, here are some great opinions from my readers. Add them up and take part in my poll!

Some of My Readers Great Opinions:
  • "things are getting way out of limits, with the prices soaring the sky!" - Nisha
  • "i guess i have to give up so many things esp You-can-live-without-them-expenditures and shopping if i decide to drive a car in maincamp. *sigh*" - Izzah
  • "Hmm... The government told us to change our lifestyles but did they even bother to change their lavish lifestyles?" - Adawiyah Juzailah
  • "Reduce.. reduce.. reduce.." - e-tavasi
  • "we go to work by car. after sending me to office, my hubby will park the car and use motocycle. if it rains, we switch to car again. if not raining, we go home by bike. - Mangosteenskin
  • "i also turn off the engine when i need to sit in the car waiting for hubby to finish his work. but a lot of mosquito if it's already dark." - Mangosteenskin
  • "... people with lavish lifestyle tend to spend their socks off to show their status by buying all those dream things for the people who can't afford it. That's why every time we wanted to spend on something, we should think hard about it." - Fishy@ike
  • "At the end of the day, you only bought or use the things that you really need and no waste of money occurs." - Fishy@ike
  • "reducing military expenses" - Bluedreamer27
  • "Government should stop the corruption at the first place." - Faisal Admar
  • "You can't compare durian price between Malaysia and Japan :)" - Faisal Admar
  • "It is too bad when Governments don't think about what they are doing to the people in their country. When there is corruption the people loose so much and others gain at the peoples expense. It is so sad." - Angelbaby
  • "A cut of 10% should have been 30-40%, so they would feel the pinch too.
  • "now, i am going to work early so as to avoid the traffic jam. Tolak awal, tekan minyak pun slow sebab bawak macam buat video klip muzik" - Rizal
  • "i want to change my lifestyle by having/getting more money ;-)" - Rizal
P/S: Happy Father's day to all dads other there. I hope my health will return to normal as soon as possible :)

Change Your Lifestyle

Poor | Edited from starbuck_555

I should stop talking about myself. I was thinking about finalizing my summer holiday post when I suddenly saw a STOP sign below a lamp post in front of my house. When did they put it there? So, like a good citizen with an obligation to mother nature creation, I think I will need to postponed the post (again). Honestly, I kinda embarrassed - one of the feeling that has been disappearing for the past few years, for talking about myself to much. Plus, people will think that I am a self centered bastard who like to brag (not that I care much about what people said). Nevertheless, taking the cue, I will talk about more important matter in order to save the world (I could feel the world is shaking when I say that phrase).

The global price of oil already hit a time high with $139 per barrel last Friday. I check on this site to take a look at today's price and what a surprise! I was greeted with a WELCOME! The last word you want to associate with oil price. Anyway, the price is $132.90 today and I left the site without looking for "Good Bye and Have A Nice Day". The new oil price in Malaysia is RM2.70 per liter (increased by 40%) and I sure all around the world, the price is increase too. And they even forecast that the global oil price will be double ($250) in the near future. Consistently, other goods prices will be up too unless the government do something. Of course, waiting for the government to take action is simply a long and painful wait, so I decided to list up what you could do to reduce the burden of the price war. Viewer Discretion Advised. This May Not Be Suitable For A Light Hearted Audience Reader.

Reduce Your Electrical Bill
Two things that usually end up a chuck full lot in your electrical bill are water heater and air conditioner's usage. Oh, by the way, Malaysian electrics rate will double start from next month. Be prepared..
  • You should get use having your bath in the cold water especially for Asian people who don't experience 4 seasons through out the year. What is a better way to start your day with the coldness of the morning running water splashing your face that will literally shake you up and actually awake you?
  • Open up your room windows and feel the breeze of fresh air so that you won't have to use air conditioner at all time (this step is not advisable for the city housing).
  • Sleep naked when it's hot rather than switching on your air conditioner or fan. Make sure you lock your room door before trying.
  • Try to switch off the unused plugs, including your water heater and air conditioner's plug - most people forget about it.
  • Try to get your eyes use to see in the dark, switch off the unnecessary lamps. It's better than having a cheaper electrical bill than to be robbed at night.
Reduce Your Entertainment's Budget
You should not indulge yourself with entertainment too much (although "too much" is depending on your state of finances). As matter of fact, this should be the last thing in your budget. However, I am a normal person, and like any normal human being, entertainment plays a big part in our life.
  • Cut your you-can-live-without-them-expenditures. For example, I will cut my Astro bill (a local satellite TV) by unsubscribed my Movie package. Of course this may be due to the fact that I rarely watch the movie channels (as I already saw most of the films there). My father wanted to unsubscribe it for a long time ago, this may a little push he needs.
  • You-can-live-without-them-expenditures also may include the budget for clothing. Try to buy one expensive (and a good quality) cloth once in a year. You could always wear it for many years to come. Avoid buying something too trendy, as trendy is very seasonal. Classic is always a good (and save) choice.
  • Try to reduce you-can't-live-without-them-expenditures. For me, it is the broadband internet (again, it depends on people). Try to choose the cheapest but reliable one. Although I am quite certain I can't do anything about mine.
  • Try to reduce what I like to call, your "social visits" rather than "hanging out with friends" phrase (You would be less guilty, trust me). One of these social visits would easily make a hole in your pocket in no time. Less shopping, less hanging out at fancy cafés and restaurants, less clubbing, less cinema going and less everything you usually do on your social visits.
Reduce Your Vacation's Budget
Other example of you-can't-live-without-them-expenditures is vacation. You're stressed a year out and you really need this holiday to make you humane again.
  • If you want to go to oversea vacation, try to choose a country that its currency exchange rate is high. This is because you would not tend to spend a lot of money on shopping on top of other expenditures. London is one of the places that you shouldn't go although the currency rate is high because the price for things there are relatively cheaper (unless you have a very very high willing power to stop shopping).
  • Whereas Europe countries are the best choice. It offers you many historical places to go without the urge to excessively shopping.
  • Try to adjust yourself into having only one long vacation per year rather than an oversea trip every two months. Oh, and of course, try to explore interesting vacations in your own country.
  • Opt to public transports whenever you're on holiday. You don't need to rush or anything right? Just enjoy the holiday. (This step may not apply to those who already use public transport every day to get to work).
  • Plan your journey well and ensure you save some of your money for emergency situation when you're on holiday. Try not to be over budget.
Other steps that can be done:
  • Reduce the usage of water. You don't need to wash your car or motorcycle every week. But you should take a bath at least thrice a day.
  • Hoop in your colleague's car to work, use public transportation or simply walk.
  • Teach your children the value of money. Reduce their monthly allowance if possible (this should be your last resort).
  • Eat outside less. Try to cook at home. Which may or may not cause several food blogs and restaurants to close.
  • Stop buying newspaper, there all bullshit anyway. Read them online instead.
There you go. Give it a try! I am doing some of the steps on my own. If you know other effective steps, do tell us. I am sure we all want to know. Changing your lifestyle may be hard, but we should not let it to be a problem to meet the end of month. Kindly note: this life changing tips are not brought by any party government, N.G.O, or any influential figure - although they should. Any similarities are regretted.

Poor People Marches | Edited from starbuck_555

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dear our beloved Malaysian Government,

We are faithful and law abide citizens have done what you have ordered. We have changed our lifestyle. And now what? No, telling people to stop eating rice when the rice price is high is not a solution. No, telling people to change their lifestyle could not solve all the problems. What about for those who struggle for the end meet, live just to survive another day and do not spend much or any on their "lifestyle"? No, not everyone send their children to study in U.K or Australia. No, not everyone has a chauffeur to drive you to work. You should try take one of our public transports, Minister. No, the rebates given will do little to cope with increasing prices and done nothing for those who don't own car or motorcycle. No, paying the same salary for government servants but in two installments is not the same as increase their salary. And no, we are not doing any street demonstration. What will be your action now?

Three simple steps that should be considered to cope with the price war:
  • Increase the effectiveness of public transportation services. Increase the effectiveness of public transportation services. Increase the effectiveness of public transportation services. Read about Neomesuff and her vivid experience when she took the real public transport.
  • Reduce tolls and car prices. Neighboring countries (except Brunei which news easily forget to compare with) may charged on higher petrol fuel, but their cars there are much cheaper than us.
  • Tighten up the enforcements. Check that daily goods and services so that they do not increase their prices as wish.
The acts of men sometimes come so kind
And with such love do well express, yet
The deeds of men sometimes come so mean
And with great disgust is well despised.
These conflicts unresolved for times,
Someday, somewhere resolves to meet.

(Life, The Unfinished Business | Oliver Mabamara)

No, I don't think it already late to talk about oil price. It never too late for something like this. No, I don't think it's too late to review the price structure. And no, I am not an anti-government, yet.

A true Malaysian at heart,

My Holiday Mood

Sitting By the Window | NotoriousRaychel

My battle with laziness has began since I can remember. The peak of it usually when I am on holiday. After all, the meaning of holiday is "rest and relax" in which I am fondly define as resting in term of mind, body and spirit. I rest my mind from making any major decision such as what I gonna have for dinner or should I wearing this white t-shirt with a long pant or short pant (which sometimes result in me not wearing anything except towel around my wrist - not like my house has any visitor during the workdays anyway, as only the maid and I in the house most of the time). Resting my body in which I rest all my muscles except (specifically) my right arm muscle for a few evil ride, if you know what I mean.

However, I did do some push and sit-up daily routine, just to drop a few sweat and I will definitely try materialize my plan (which I have been planning since the start of my holiday - a month ago) to climb the mountain that in a walking distance from my house. And in term of spirit, I usually reserve my spirit only for watching movies, reading books and for my social visit once in a week. The social visit could means hanging out with my friends or going to shopping with and rarely without my mom (I don't carry cash in holiday :). I am looking forward for that time of the week because it was the time I see a real person other than my family and not-the-myspace-facebook-friendster-human-being. That my friends, is what I call holiday. How about you?

So, last weekend, I wanted to finish my entry about my in-case-you-don't-know summer vacation, but couldn't find the right words nor times to scramble down my ideas. My grandma and her entourage which consist of my aunts, uncles and cousins went down to Johore from Kuala Lumpur (KL) to visit a sick relative and decided to stop by our home (all my relatives including my grandmother are staying in KL). Most of my cousins are around 1-4 years old and although they have their own maids with them, the unbearable noise their making are enough to drive me out from the house. Just consider this, the daily condition is, I will wake up only when the birds are singing and damn knocking on my room windows (I live in a jungle, remember?). When all those natural sounds are replaced with a crying and screaming, my ears just couldn't handle it.

I decided to call my friend, and we went to watch Kung Fu Panda. The movie is about a fat panda (is there any slim panda?) who unexpectedly picked as to be the dragon warrior and along with the Furious Five; Tigress (voice Angelina Jolie), Viper (voice Lucy Liu), Crane (voice David Cross), Monkey (voice Jackie Chan), and Mantis (voice Seth Rogen) fighting the power hunger snow leopard, Tai Lung (voice Ian McShane). Although some says that the movie offers nothing new compared to Ratatouillle and Shrek, I found it very entertaining. The cinema is filled with laughter from different races and various range of ages. I feel like we are united somehow by this film.

Then, after hanging couple hours more with my friend, I went back home just to continue watching another 4 more movies! Before going home I bought 6 DVDs (buy 5 and free 1) as I fallen for the charms of the DVD seller. I usually pay more for a good service then a less for the same stuff but from a less friendlier seller. The Onion Movie, Mama's Boy, What Happen In Vegas, Las Vegas 21 and Semi Pro. And I did watch all of them except Semi Pro that day! So, to further emphasis my holiday mood, these are the reviews for Kung fu Panda, The Onion Movie and What Happen in Vegas. I couldn't find enough time to do the rest of the movies' review. Will do it as soon as possible.

What Happen In Vegas
  • Although Diaz is not as funny as Jessica Alba in Good Luck Chuck, Kutcher and Diaz is indeed a great couple together
  • The movie was funny mainly due to Jack's best bud, Hater (Rob Corddry) and Joy's best pal, Tipper (Lake Bell) dialogs and actions
  • For pervert normal people out there, you could see Kucther in his boxer and Diaz in her bra - nice (evil grin)
(for the rest of Party, Sex, Gamble and Married in Vegas review, please visit my other blog, My Little Black Pot)

The Onion Movie
  • It plays on (and sometimes cross) the line of racist, sexual exploitation, gay issues and handicaps. You must always keep it close to your mind that this is a fake news
  • The funniness of it just last for a few second. You want to laugh but before you know it already not funny anymore
  • It fills with stupidity. Enough said
(for the rest A Smelly Onion review, please visit my other blog, My Little Black Pot)

Kung Fu Panda
  • I never been quite a Jack Black's fan. Okay, although I like his character in The Holiday (when he's less funny), he always seems to be in the same character from movie to movie. Surprisingly, I love and want to hug him (my curious self wanted to know if I could reach both of my arms around his body) in this movie and I am not even gay. Thanks for being the cutest panda ever, seriously (compared to his bearded face) and I love the scene when he was trying to find foods to eat because "I love to eat when I am depressed" - how real is that? We love too Po!
  • All the miniature of the characters definitely will be sold out in an hour! (they already released a Kung Fu Panda's game for PlayStation 3 - check it out here)

Hugs n Kisses (not me) | edited from smiles4angels

So, there you go. Sorry if I am missing out few posts in your blog. The laziness of holiday is drive me crazy (magnificently without even doing anything). For those who have live visitor's detector in their blog, and noticed me being there but left without giving any comment, don't be mad. I am just enjoying the sunshine from my window in front of my work desk, sunbathing while wearing a pair of sunglasses, (not that I think I am cool) it just I want to savor the rest of my holiday. See you soon!
