Love you guys!

I Never Know Conservation of Energy is This Fun(ny)!

My university received the 5 stars university rating last year (the only university in Malaysia to received it! Sorry, can't help but to mention it :) So, in an attempt to live up to its name (or so does it seems to me) it bans all the usage of "WHITE COFFIN" in its My Green Pledge campaign.
When the dark is lurking by. The sun is falling fast. The creeping start to walk down your sleeves. Your stomach heart is beating fast. Red eyes seems to follow you from behind. Any movement and steps will expose you to the most dangerous creature in the name of .. polystyrene.
Innocent student 1: White coffin?? What the heck is that?
Innocent student 2: That means a polystyrene. They said the name polystyrene is not cool enough for people like us.
Innocent student 3 Me: Well, it has been the trend nowadays. Everything related to death seems to be in our way. With death, I mean Gothic style.
Innocent student 1: Not bad. It does intriguer me.

So, without the usage of this white coffin, it seems to me that people are tends to finish their meals at the cafeteria rather than taking it back to the resident area. Which is the good sign to ensure that students will become fatter each day. Oh, don't let me start on foods. Most of the cafeterias are using a new biodegradable food container (which coincidently look like a polystyrene but in it defends, biodegradable)

Others that include in the Green Pledge are:

Eat the cafeteria. Finish your meal
Ok. So, when I was a kid, my parents always said something like this, "Finish your meal. Do you know that kids in Bosnia die in starvation?" (no offense Bosnians) and being an obedient child, I will finish my meal. However, the effect of those saying has faded. Now, it occurs to me that I can't finish my meal because I'm imaging other kids in third world country in starvation (and sometimes, adult in first world country too. No offense people in USA, Britain and Europe)

Use own reusable food and drink container
However, please eat your own food, not others.

Save paper. Think before you print. Print on both side of paper
Not only that, please use the smallest font available. To save the world, we need to sacrifice our vision. After all, what is the use of inventions such as laser surgery, spectacle and contact lens? You do want to save nature, do you?

Switch off light, fans and other electrical equipment when not in use
You could always carry a bulb in your purse or pocket. Each time you want to use a certain room, just put in the bulb into the socket. Then, go searching for your lamp switch. In case you can't find it in the darkness, do carry along a torch light with you. When you're finish using the room, take our the bulb and go find another room to bright it up. The motto will be "One home, one bulb". This will reduce the energy usage and thus your electrical bill.

Walk, cycle and use public transportation more often
In this context, "public transportation" will also means "your friend vehicle". Use this excuse as many as you can until your friend are getting tired of using his own vehicle. Then, you can both use the real public transport (two is always better than one).

Buy product which you could use for a long time
Clothes is define as a product for short term use. This means that you must try to be naked as much as possible. It's much better than you're using fur. As PETA said, I rather go naked than wearing fur. If only others will hear their voice more. Keep up the good work PETA!

Don't use screen saver. Turn off or blank your monitor when not in use
If you don't want to use your computer anymore, you could always modified your monitor to become an aquarium. You could then use the money for the fish tank, to buy some condom. Less people = less pollution. Do you follow me?

Turn off your tab while brushing your teeth
Avoid using tab water while brushing your teeth. Use Listerine instead to rinse your mouth. It states here at the cover of Listerine, antiseptic mouthwash, kills gems that cause bad breath, plaque and the gum infection, gingivitis. Well, needless to say, does your tab water work that great?

Use electronic facilities to store and read document
More dependent of electronic facilities means less dependent on brain. How convenient!

Practice the 4R's - Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
"Refuse" to do homework or assignment (as it use a lot of papers), "Reduce" the dependency of your brain (as stated above), "Reuse" everything that you have (I mean, everything) and "Recycle" your old clothes (inherits it to your younger brother)

There you go. Conserve your environment in a fun way. Just make sure that you would not blame me in any mishaps when undergoes my carefully planned steps. Keep our environment clean and sustainable, course if you not, the mother nature could always destroy you later.

So, tell us more about what you have done and intended to do? Don't worry if you haven't done it yet. Maybe someone will read your steps and follow! Just like I wish mine. :D

What Happen When

I am finally managed to sneak out from my overload schedule to try to write something for Hot Shit Form Here. My next post is supposedly be a funny entry. But sadly I can't finished it right now. I have missed a lot of my regular read blogs and it makes me feel so guilty. So, I want to cheer everything up with this Mr Bean jokes. Couple weeks before, I watched Mr Bean for (if my mind calculator count correctly) 137 times! The story never get bored and each time I watch it, I will crack with laughter. Well, human nature I guess, always laugh at others but NEVER at yourself. I hope you haven't read it. But if you do, just be kind, smile and enjoy the laugh :D

What Happen When:

1)MR BEAN SEES A DOCTOR :
Doctor : I regret to tell you that you have a brain tumor.
Mr. Bean: Yesss!!! (jumps in joy)
Doctor : Did you understand what I just told you?
Mr. Bean: Yes of course, do you think I'm dumb?
Doctor : Then why are you so happy?
Mr. Bean: Because that proves that I have a brain!

2) MR. BEAN IN GRADE SCHOOL:
Teacher : What is 5 plus 4?
Mr. Bean : 9
Teacher : What is 4 plus 5?
Mr. Bean : Are you trying to fool me, you've just twisted the figure, the answer is 6!!

3) WHILE IN A DRUG STORE:
Mr. Bean: I'd like some vitamins for my grandson.
Clerk : Sir, vitamin A, B or C?
Mr. Bean: Any will do, my grandson doesn't know the alphabet yet!!

4) AT AN ATM MACHINE:
Friend : What are you looking at?
Mr. Bean: I know your PIN no., hee, hee.
Friend : Alright, what is my PIN no. if you saw it?
Mr. Bean: four asterisks (****)!

5) MARRIAGE:
Friend : How many women do you believe must a man marry?
Mr. Bean: 16
Friend : Why?
Mr. Bean: Because the priest says 4 richer, 4 poorer, 4 better and 4 worse.

6) CHATTING WITH HIS FRIEND:
Friend : How was the tape you borrowed from me, is it ok?
Mr. Bean: What do you mean ok, I thought it's a horror film. I didn't see any picture.
Friend : What tape did you take anyway?
Mr. Bean: Head Cleaner.

7) DEATH OF HIS MOTHER:
Mr. Bean : (crying) the doctor called, Mom's dead.
Friend : condolence, my friend.
(After 2 minutes) Mr. Bean cries even louder
Friend : what now?
Mr. Bean: my sister just called, her mom died too!

8) MR. BEAN ATTENDING A MEETING:
Colleague : Sorry I'm late. I got stuck in an elevator for 4 hrs because of a power failure.
Mr. Bean : That's alright, me too... I got stuck on the escalator for 3 hrs.

9) SPELLING LESSON:
Mr. Bean's Son: Dad, what is the spelling of successful.. ..is it one c or two c?
Mr. Bean : Make it three c to be sure!

Have a great weekend :D

The First of Something

It has been quite a long time since my last movie review (American Gangster, which was not even a real movie review as I just insisted people to watch it and leave the reviews to the others). So, in the name of releasing tension after my dreadful Mass Transfer test (on Thursday), my friends and I watch The Great Debaters. Each time I want to write a review, I try hard not to read ahead other people reviews. Sometimes I can't resists it, but in this case, I succeed (but I do cheated myself by searching for Wiley College in Wikipedia. My bad).

Two days before, in my Islamic and Asian Civilizations lecture, with only my physical well being present (my mental and psychology was fully occupied for that evening test), I learned a new thing. I can do multiple tasks! One of my ear was plugged in with mp3, reading notes for the evening test, listening to the lecture and even managed to have a little conversation with my neighbor from time to time with my mouth filled with chewing gums.

So, in a brief but memorable moment, I heard about my lecturer talks about African-American people in the late of 16th century. How they were brought from Africa to America as a slave to work at cotton farms. As a slave, they do not have any human rights and so they must assimilate abide the American culture. That long day has slowly faded. With many of them have been given their deserved rights and even has a chance to be the President of United State (I really hope that Barack Obama will win over Hillary Clinton though that has nothing to do with this movie), it was really a rude awakening for me to watch The Great Debaters and witness all the racial segregation and violence.
"We do what we have to do, so we can do what we want to do."
Some people says that there are already so many movies about the "First of Something" and making another movie about it should be stopped (and in this movie, the first black underdog debating team from Wiley College to debates against Harvard and won the national championship). But for me, there is no harm to show to the younger generation (like me) how much the difficulty to pave a path. A path that can be walked easily today without having to deal with the thorny bush. This is not a typical story of an underdog sport team that will win their championship cup. It's more than that.

The movie was inspirational and absolutely moving (after all, this is another Oprah Winfrey production). I finished the movie around 3am and could only reduce my excitement level at 4am to get the much needed sleep. Denzel Washington (as Melvin B. Tolson) and Forest Whitaker (Dr. James Farmer Sr.) done their job awesomely. Nate Parker (as Henry Lowe) and Jurnee Smollett (Samantha Book with an "e") acts are memorable. However, the character of James Farmer Jr. (played by Denzel Whitaker) wins my heart the most. Young (only 14 years old), intelligent and has a prominent father, the character developed well through out the story. Plus, he looks like a young Sean Kingston to me. Ha ha

Isn't he looks like a young version of Sean Kingston?
Who is the judge? The judge is God. Why he is a God? Because he sign out all out off the losers and not my opponents. Who is your opponents? He doesn't exist. Why he doesn't exist? Because he is merely involved in two type of speak. Speak the truth? Speak the truth!
However, the movie does not exceed my expectation especially when it comes to the technical arts of debating. The film more focused on the moral and social values instead of the debates itself. Not that I have any problem with it. But, I do think that the movie should stressed more on the delivering skill and when they were doing research for the arguments. Audiences shouldn't have to wait until the third part of the movie to see the arts in it. I have been in debating team for several times, and have learned some of the skills quite well, thanks to my fierce language teacher.

The first of something always will be the most of important part of your life. The first time you walk, talk, going to the first date, the first day of your miserable marriage life, the first day you go to work, and many other first of something that will effect your life. And in this case, not only individual life, but the society at large. Thrust me, the more you learn about the first something, the more you will appreciate your life. Part of the history should never be forgotten.

Hot Shit Form Here rate:

Have a your friends come over, and enjoy this great, great movie. My excellent rating says it all.

When Cupid Strikes Online

Warning! This post may content a lot of pictures. Drink your coffee for awhile, sit back and enjoy the loading. Sorry for the inconvenient.

This post is about everything that worth and has meaning for me (and I hope you as well) in this Valentine's day.

Awards and appreciations that I received this week:This beautiful red Valentine's ribbon was given by mr_viruz at his In My Mind blog. Nice isn't it? Remind me of [RED] ( created by Bono and Bobby Shriver, to raise awareness and money for The Global Fund by teaming up with the world's most iconic brands to produce (PRODUCT)RED branded products and the money from it sell will helps women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa) Seems like red will be my favorite color for the time being.

This friendship gift was from Bluedreamer from Bluedreamer Paradise who spreading some love to his friends. And the words goes along with it is "Friendship is a light in the darkness". This love love in the air week makes me appreciate how wonderful to have everyone that I cared around me.
The first ever award from Wow from Look 4 Dream Girls blog. All those little hearts were amazing. I wonder why Wow chose my heart to be solid like that. Ha ha. Love it!

I almost miss out this award from my new friend, mangosteenskin from her self tittle blog, mangosteenskin. Her blog is amazing! Full of pictures beautiful and creative pictures. Do check her out!

My best definition of LOVE:
I don't know exactly the definition of love, but I do know what everything that love is not. Love is not about chemistry because if it does, your partner could treat you like a toxic waste. Love is not blind, it just that when you are in love, you couldn't see everything clearly. You should not blame gravitation when you're falling in love. Love is not a seed. It is a root. Every time you taught you have cut all the feeling off with your partner, it always grows back. There is no such thing as 'sea of love', because if it does, I will always the first one to drown. Love is not sweet as candy. It tastes bitter sometimes. - bluecrystaldude in Killing Two Love Birds With One Stone

The best personalized gift on Valentine's day :
Ha ha. I found this idea from mangosteenskin. I told you she's creative. It comes along with a text message, "You can't delete this message, I LOVE YOU". It reminds me at Nokia 3310, used to be an old but reliable hand phone. My friends and I always joking around bout how big the phone is and if we throw it at a dog, a dog will die. I guess, if we throw this gift, a dog will die too, seriously.

When A Child Is Neglected

Do you remember February 1993 in England , when a young boy of 3 was taken from a Liverpool shopping centre by two 10-year-old boys? Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second, Jon Venables took his hand and led him out of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson. They took Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the way stopping every now and again to torture the poor little boy who was crying constantly for his mummy. Finally they stopped at a railway track where they brutally kicked him, threw stones at him, rubbed paint in his eyes, pushed batteries up his anus and cut his fingers off with scissors. Other mutilations were inflicted but not reported in the press. -Extracted from an email posted at ClickdTalk

I can't believe it. Parents nowadays are taking care their children very lightly. Especially in Malaysia wonder wonderland. And it has been a trend here!. Don't believe it? Click HERE to read more. And HERE too. And HERE.

You want to have kids as quick as possible (Wah! Already two kids? How long you two have been married? Oh, it was just like yesterday, seriously, yesterday). After that you sometimes and somehow, managed to be busy enough and forget that you have kids. Sound cruel? Hey, when was a trend is not cruel? Don't worry, before you ever blink, the trend will be gone.. I hope.

Parenting skills of young parents are seems to be deteriorated (caution, not me who saying it). So, when their child lost on her way to a market, why don't we torcered the parent more? Jail sound good to me (definitely not me). That is what I could recalled when the Minister of Women, Family and Community of Malaysia has suggested one of the proposed laws when the breakdown of Nurin Jazlin's case surface in the local media.

I thought that the parent has suffered enough and the main criminal should be the unknown assailant, suspected to be a psychopath killer? Sadly enough, that person is still live freely till this day. Well, when your Health Minister former Health Minister has a sex scandal video surfacing the internet, what more did you expect?

I would like to ask your opinion on the best way to handle this situation. Jail the parents as they are the one who neglect them? Are the parents is the only problem here? So, in this love, love in the air month, spare some of your love to those kids who have been lost, to their parents that are waiting with hope mounting high and to the ordinary citizens like you and me who plainly care.

Killing Two Love Birds With One Stone

I have been twice tagged by mr_viruz at his In My Mind blog and the other one is from Noctural Blogger's Introspect. The second one is actually some sort of contest and somehow, I have been invited to enter. Truth need to be told, I never enter any contest online or what so ever. It always occur to me that my winning strike doesn't lucky enough to get me winning. Nor that I have enough courage to face the anderaline rush. Nevertheless, it's easier for me to answer questions rather than to make up the whole love story and than get embarrassed by it. So, I guess I will kill two birds with one stone. The questions are:

1. Would you celebrate this coming Valentines or not?
2. What do you like most about your partner?

3. What do you think does your partner like most about you?

4. How did you and your special someone meet?

5. What's the most romantic thing your partner ever did for you?

6. If you are single, what do you miss about being in a relationship?

7. And the final question, of course, what is your definition of love?

Before answering it, I just recently have a spartan fight with my partner. And after battling with other 300 war warriors, I end up with a bleeding heart. To recover my war like love story, I intend to built up entirely imaginary partner in love. [You are supposedly could not read the last line of this paragraph. If you do manage to read it somehow, please seek your doctor's advice]

My honest answers for those questions:

1. Of course, why shouldn't I?

2. She was my strength when I was weak, she was my voice when I couldn't speak, she was my eyes when I couldn't see, she saw the best was in me, lifted me up when I couldn't reach and she gave me faith 'coz she believed. I am everything I am because she loves me. [any similarity with Celine Dion's Because you love me song is purely coincident]

3. For all those times I stood by her (sometimes she's lazy enough to stand on her own feet), for all the truth that I made her see (usually related with shopping bizzire), for all the joy I brought to her life (and in rare condition, sorrow), for all the wrong that I made right (she always says I am a busy body person, but I received it with an open heart), for every dream I made come true (after all, she told anyone who want to listen, every single dream she had), and for all the love she found in me (sometimes I hide it in my secret pocket in my short, but she found that too!)

4. I met her at my ball, held in one of my castle in Malaysia. After she heard about the ball, she managed to sneak out from her evil step mother and two step sisters with a help from a tooth fairy. From the first moment I saw her stumble down the main stairs, I fall in love with her. Unfortunately, her has to go after the Big Ben struck 12. However, her Blackberry fallen from her dress. The rest was history.

5. Leave me alone for the whole week so that I could catching up with my buddies. How thoughtful of her.

6. If and only if I am single, what I will miss the most is all those complicated and emotion instability of my partner. I don't have any problem handling mine but not my partner. Thanks for the 'woman problem' that come faithfully every month.

Hope you have everlasting love to cater all the love rush this week month. Happy Valentine's Day.

Giving is Better Than Receiving

Giving is better than receiving because giving start the receiving process - Jim Rohn
I am sure most of us have heard the line, "it is better to give than to receive". However, in my opinion, the giving and receiving hand has the same functionality. It just like your right and left hands. It may has a different functions but the main aim is to be part of your body. Analogically, for me, giving a blog award and receiving it has the same function; to encourage other blogger to strive for more as it is a form of appreciation and encouragement.

I have been the receiving end of this matter for sometimes. I love being appreciated. At least you know that your readers really read and enjoy your blog. As matter of fact, I have received 3 form of appreciations when I am on my short holiday.

The first one was from Angelbaby from Your Caring Angels, sending me a Friend Award. The second one was from Mr Viruz from Hall of Fame, showing his sign of appreciation acknowledgment to his friends, and the third one was from Hye from Space of Reality. She gave me her sign of gratitude for being her friend. Thanks to all. [You could see all those awards at the right side of my page]

As usual, I don't like to be the same as others, so I invented my own awards just like Hye.

The first award is the Addictive Blog Award. In a simple words, blogs that I will come at a regular basis. [I prefer a notification by email compared to other social bookmarkers. It's more convenience for a subscriber to check your updates] So, my Addictive Blog Award goes to:

Antibarbie.net
About Every Little Thing
Suburbian Queen
Nisha World and Baby Alisha
Look 4 Dream Girls
Eavesdropping

Laughter is some all form of supplement that I need to make my day. I enjoy reading those blogs because the contents and the comments are funny, I mean really really funny. Needless to say, it's rare to find as a fixed phone nowadays. Thus, my Freaking Funny Blog Award goes to:

About Every Little Thing
Daisy the Curly Cat

The Professor's Blog Award is for those highly-intellectual-composed blog. It requires you to think. That been said you don't have to be a professor to read it. I wonder what a professor will read about through a blog? Must be some sort DNA replication and stuff. Prepare yourself to discover more about your thinking skills when you're entering these blogs:

Space of Reality
My Hush Space
Wise Up
My Thoughts on Stuff

And my last award, the Amazing Award goes to my faithful commenters and readers, that make me looking forward to hear their opinion every time I publish a new post. Thank you so much! My blog can't survive without you! [P/S: I got so many wonderful readers, so I have to limit my usage of Cupid's spreading love ability to only five most well behaved blogs]

Clumsy Mummy
Your Caring Angels
Hall of Fame
My Love Hub
Waliz Diary

I hope these awards will trigger undiscovered potentials in you and sharpen your current skills of blogging.

Cheers,

Langkawi Trip

Finally, I arrived at my home sweet home in Johor, after a tiring but exciting holiday trip from Penang to Alor Star, Kuala Perlis, Langkawi, Kuala Perlis, Alor Star and than Johor (in that order). Needless to say, I am pretty exhausted. My trip to Langkawi Island was nice marvelous. We stayed at Langkasuka Beach Resort for 3 days and 2 nights. For a 4 stars hotel, the price for deluxe room is reasonable (rm130 per night ~USD 39.06). Cheap isn't it?
A cliche place to take a picture?
I don't really care
The view at the top of Langkawi is breath taking
My friend and I

Tips for Langkawi's holiday:

  • Do not go there at the peak season. For example: school holiday, festive season, LIMA, Le Tour de Langkawi, etc)
  • Travel agents are plenty at the jetty. You do not have to book early your reservations for renting car or hotel if you know where to ask. Just make sure you are not at the peak season
  • Rental car are quite cheap. It is advisable to rent a car as the interesting places are scattered all over the island. Please note that we are using right hand drive. If you do not use to drive a car, there are plenty motorbikes for rent
  • Langkawi is a place where you must wear seatbelt while driving. There always several roadblock on the same road made by police just to ensure you are wearing one
  • The foods there are quite expensive. I always go to fast food restaurants when I am in holiday
  • However, if you want to eat local food, go to the restaurants where you can see many locals eat there. And try to act "locally". Heh
  • Always bring along a spare cloth and a sandal as you do not know when you actually need it. You will stumble to many interesting places to take a bath, whether at the waterfall or river. The cold water after a long journey always refreshing
  • The water at private beaches are clean, however, please beware of jellyfish
  • Bring along sunglasses, sunblock and light clothes because the weather there quite hot
