Love you guys!

How do you Show your Country your Appreciation?

Picture from: Urban Collective

No matter how much I complained about this current government; on the corruptions, cronies, political motives, short term planning and no planning at all, high inflation, economy dampness, interfering in jurisdictions, government controlled medias and web sites and less people friendly, just to name the few, I still love being in Malaysia. There is a say, “hujan emas di negeri orang, hujan batu di negeri sendiri, baik lagi di negeri sendiri” (translation: Even though other countries offer much better things compare to your motherland, it is better still to live in your own country)

Today is the 51st anniversary of independence of Malaysia. I read a tweet from Milkberry asking, “does the fact that you don’t blog about Merdeka or how much you love your country make you a lesser Malaysian?”. It is a good question to be asked around. For me, I do not believe it will makes you less Malaysian, but still it is one of good ways to show your love towards your country. I do not have my own vehicle to put a flag or stickers on to show my patriotic-ness (I just have a bicycle, but the tyres are flatted and 90% of it already rusted). So, although I am in the middle of preparation of two examinations on this Wednesday and Thursday, I make sure that I spend sometimes writing this post.

If you are doing a post about Merdeka or any other country’s Independence Day, do leave me a link. I will add you up in this post!

Should We Cancel Avril Lavigne's Concert in Malaysia?

Immoral? Who cares?

In case you haven't read about it, there were rumors circulating the internet saying that Avril Lavigne's The Best Damn Tour in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has been canceled. Then today, Malaysian government officially said that the concert will goes on as planned if only they have a valid permit for doing that. The same excuse was being used to Inul Darasita’s (a dangdut’s superstar) supposed to be concerts. Both her concerts were canceled in a short notice. And of course, she cried and fainted when she heard the news. I am sure she would not come to Malaysia for quite sometimes after this. Oh, there is also lots of fuzz when Beyonce changed her tour from Malaysia to Indonesia while Christina Aguilera skipped Malaysia on her Asia tour schedule. Gwen Stefani has to ‘tune’ down her clothes and the Malaysian organizer was fined RM10, 000 (USD2, 857) after the U.S. girl group was accused of flouting decency regulations.

After reading comments circulating in the websites from whether foreigners who never even come to Malaysia and from those who said they are from Malaysia, I feel quite ashamed and embarrassed. For what reason was other people have the right to blame other country for practicing and preserving their culture? Oh hell, who am I bluffing? Before I continue my rambling further, let me point out several factors for you to decide whether or not the government should cancel Avril Lavigne’s concert:

Be a Gentleman Please

From the movie of Quantum of Solace - the next James Bond movie

What are exactly the criteria to be a gentleman? This question starts to linger in and out my ears passing through my half-function brain all otherwise hot day long (there was a problem with my electricity earlier this day). This complicated story starts when one of my cyber space friends asked for my phone number. Let me bold that sentence; she asked for my phone number. I kindly said that it would be better if she could gives her number first as I do not want my number to be open for the whole world viewing. Her comment’s box is automatically approved while comments in my page need to have my approval first. But she refused and uttered the most cliché excuses in the world, “you should give yours first if you are a gentleman”.

Before I continue further, I honestly admit that my reaction after that was not to be proud off. Nevertheless, the lack of sleep and a very hot day already fueled up my sarcastic level with every sweat that I dropped. I replied her back by saying and I quoted:

Why Human is Animal Best Friend

Hi, my name is Heejeerah. Some may already read about me in this post done by one of my family, yeah he adores me. So, I am a guest writer for Hot Shit Form Here this month. I live in a small town with a bunch of family members. I would love to tell you guys my top 5 why human is an animal best friend!

1. They never judge me
- Even I haven’t been taken bath for quite some times, I never was accused for the bad smelled in the room. They never knew though that I fart release some air when I had a bad stomachache.

2. They need me as their source of entertainment
- Of course some of them forcibly requited us into some circus or freak show, but they also immortalized us as a superhero. You could see them borrowed our character in Cat woman, Batman or in the Spiderman series. They always wanted to touch their inner animal instinct from time to time whether in form of entertainment or in their sex life.

3. You could always share secrets with them
- I always share mine with them. May be they to dumb to understand it, but at least they never tell anyone what it’s all about. That being said, I am totally into those human secret whisperers. Gossiping is the best way to spend for otherwise a boring day. And they also love to share their secrets with us!

4. They love to touch me
- If only my species could be charged in court, I am sure there are a lot animals out there will sue human kind for sexual harassment. We were cuddled, touched and even grasped in some inappropriate areas. Nevertheless, I also love to hump on their fluffy cushions and sometimes a leg or hand (especially when they were asleep). Well, I guess we are squared then.

5. They care about us
- They cried when we are sick or when we lost. They watched us growing up and treat us like a family member. They even had made a movie or two about the friendship that were shared together right? And that is the main reason why human is an animal best friend!

So, you already have my top 5 Why Human is an Animal Best Friend. But, before I wrap up my post, there is also a reason why I hate human being so much!

I hate her!

PETA

- I hate PETA. Every time I see internet, there she is. With her fake boobs, fake lips and fake ass buttock (click here in case you do not know what buttock means - young people nowadays). I am sure none of my species looks like that. And how many times did she marry already? She was even dashing bad words to my Jessica Simpson. Damn that old lady! Go and do what you done the best!

*Updated* So, let me know why do you think Animal is Man Best Friend? I am sure my friends would love to hear it from you! By the way, I am a single and available bachelor cat. If you think I am attractive, please let me know. You could always leave me a phone number or email here. I am sure Bluecrystaldude will be kind enough to let me know later. Thanks!

What is the perfect age to get married?

Photo from Flickr

When two people are under the influence of the most violent, most insane, most delusive, and most transient of passions, they are required to swear that they will remain in that excited, abnormal, and exhausting condition continuously until death do them part. ~ George Bernard Shaw, Getting Married, 1908

Click to hear the song Here Comes The Bride:

Why we are getting married? For some, the rest of their life will be like a carrion crows who is trying to survive just to live another day of fight and dismay. That is why you should have a little help, called patient so that you would not just end up regretting your life but you still have to live with it. After all, everyone has a dream to be married once (a statement not a rhetoric question). Some prefer to be marriage when they already have a stable career, a nice home and enclosed with a good social environment.

For others, they prefer to get married at an early age, mostly 18-23. Some are firm believer that we should be married at the first love that we had, or that if we wait a little bit longer, the right person may just walks pass by without our noticed. Others, believe in spontaneous act or when adrenaline hormone urges to a certain level (may or may not be due to abundant booze, boobs and drugs) have to get married just to fill an annulment hours after that (Read Britney Spears).

But in some part of the world, most commonly in South Asia and Saharan Africa, the children there did not have the right to choose, they were forced to. Their parents may consent to child marriage out of economic necessity, or because they believe marriage will protect girls from sexual assault and pregnancy outside marriage, extend girls’ childbearing years or ensure obedience to their husband’s household. From UNICEF report on 2007, 36 per cent of women aged 20-24 were married or in union before they even reached their 18th birthday. Child marriage is a long-standing tradition in areas where it is practices, making protest sometimes barely possible.

So, if you ask me, what is the perfect age for me to marriage, I will say around 25-30 years old. I will graduate with my degree when I am 23, settle down as a junior engineer in my scholar’s firm for 4 years. Buy a comfortable house, the latest hybrid car and enjoying my years of traveling, parties and social meeting every before I move into the real adult age at 30 (young adult age should be around 20-29). My partner should be around 23-35 years old. I do not mind a matured one, if she is still keep in shape and has more experienced than I am – I will go and chase her if I feel that she is the right one for me.

Several factors to be consider when you are deciding your perfect age for marriage:

1. Career
2. Self achievement
3. Finances including assets and property
4. Physical attraction and emotion attachment
5. and the most important is Mr. or Mrs. Right

Three rings of marriage are the engagement ring, the wedding ring, and the suffering. ~ Author Unknown

Of course, this is only a plan. In the end, we leave it to God to do His wonders. Marriage: a knot of two souls, two live and two families.

To have and to hold,
From this day forward,
For better, for worse,
For richer, for poorer,
In sickness and in health,
To love and to cherish,
'Till death do us part

Kindly note, I would love to hear comments from marriage couples to those who still single, to share their thought upon this matter. Your comment may or may not be used or publish for educational purposes only. I really appreciate your comments.

Less Word Wednesday #2

>> Less Word Wednesday #2 >> Nerdy Professor

*UPDATED!*

Did you notice that the picture is actually a man face looks upside down and masked with few other accessories?

This picture reminds me so much to my old lecturer from India, Senior Lecturer, Dr. Jyoti Prosad Choudhury. He is very very thin (and fragile) looking lecturer, who spoke with confident and you could see spots of saliva form at around the corner of his mouth. He wears belt up to his chest and locked inside his office every free time. But he indeed a good lecturer. He cycles everyday from his house in front of the university to our campus. The rumors said that he was even bullied by secondary school kids at his residential area while riding on his old bicycle. He went back to India last year. I really hope that he will found happiness in his home country. What about you? Do you have a teacher that has a very distinct characteristic like mine? Please feel free to share with us here!

Victory Is Sweet

Edited from Flickr | sdosick

It has been ages since my last post. Well, it was 4 days ago, but I do hope you miss my presence here. It has been a hectic week. My workloads have been multiplied every single minute as it approaches my half semester break, which is due on 15th August. Other than watching Never Back Down (5 stars – the actions were very impressive!), Wall-E (4 stars – filled with moral values), The Dark Knight (5 stars - the best summer movie to date) and the latest installment of Mummy (3.5 stars – Just okay and reminds me a lot to National Treasures), I also managed to squeeze my time to read a best selling book called The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

It was the first book by him, but one of the best books I ever read. I am only half way through the book but already looking forward to buy his second book. (A Thousand Splendid Suns). What amazed me the most is that the author is a doctor. Who would have thought that a doctor could wrote such a beautiful novel to which Washington Post Book World quoted as “a powerful book… No frills, no nonsense, just hard, spare prose”. The book best describe as a remainder for some facts in life that we may be neglected after a hard day at work. The need for a good relationship with subordinates fellow workers, bosses, friends and family.

As I told before, I love to read books. But reading and writing is a totally different story. Nevertheless, I tried (read = forced) to write a technical essay on Energy: A Challenge for Sustainable Development. This essay was for the National Chemical Engineering Symposium 2008 (NACES). It is an annual gathering for chemical engineering undergraduates from both local and private universities all over Malaysia. I have submitted mine just a day before I went to Paris. Rushing and without any guidance from my deputy dean (the person who was supposed to supervise my essay), I thought nothing about winning. And then, last weekend, at the main NACES event in University Putra Malaysia (UPM), I was announced a second runner up. Crap!

I never enter any essay competition in my whole life before. Let alone wrote a serious article based on journals and other creditable resources for educational purposes. An engineer, who writes, draws and has a big mouth. I am sure hope it would not be a lethal combination. Great, this ends up just another post about myself (I had a different post in mind). Before you all getting bored about Hot Shit Form Here, I would like to give a little heads up. My next post would be about marriage! I am not married yet. At least it sure would not be about me, right.
